Wildlife at Cedar Court

We have an interesting array of wildlife at Cedar Court. One tenant reported seeing a raccoon in the black walnut tree at the back of the property beside the parking lot. I saw a very large grey squirrel in one of the trees on the other side of the parking lot, posted above. Then there’s the regular squirrels.

And on separate occasions two of us saw one of those black and white-striped pussies–also known as skunks–crossing the place.

A family of blue jays grew up in one of our trees, or nearby.

On the evening of May 2 2022, all four landed in this tree for a moment on the young ones’ practice flight. They flew around the neighbourhood, down to Duke St. E. and over to Madison Ave. A few days later, they were gone and so were the adults. Here are a few more photos of them that evening.

Someone else mentioned a nest of robins.

Also a family of sea gulls. And then there’s Miss Marbles, the stray cat with a collar who keeps crossing the parking lot who got her name from her marbled colour fur.
